Terms of Service
Welcome to Agape. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Agape Faith, Inc. ("Agape," "we," "us" or "our") and govern your use of agapebibleapp.com, the Agape mobile apps, and related services (together, the "Services"). By joining the waitlist, creating an account, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
Please read section 13 carefully. It contains a binding arbitration agreement and class action waiver that affect how disputes between you and Agape are resolved. You can opt out within 30 days.

1. Who can use Agape
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Services only with the permission and involvement of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. You may not use the Services if you are barred from doing so under applicable law or if we have previously removed your account.
2. Your account
Give us accurate information when you sign up and keep it current. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity on your account. Tell us right away at info@agapebibleapp.com if you believe your account has been accessed without permission. Do not create accounts for other people without their permission, impersonate anyone, or sell or transfer your account.
3. Early access and invites
Joining the waitlist does not guarantee access by any particular date. We invite people in waves at our discretion, and referral invites may move you up but are not a promise of a specific position. Early access and beta features may be incomplete, change, or be removed, and may contain bugs. Please do not send invites to people who have not asked for them or use automated means to generate referrals.
4. Community guidelines
Agape is built for encouragement, prayer and honest community among Christians and anyone exploring faith. Disagreement is welcome when it is respectful. When you use Agape, you agree not to:
- harass, bully, threaten, shame or intimidate anyone, or encourage others to do so;
- post hate speech or content that attacks people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion or denomination, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics;
- post sexually explicit content, graphic violence, or anything that sexualizes or endangers minors;
- promote or glorify self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders (if you or someone you know is in crisis, contact local emergency services or, in the U.S., call or text 988);
- share someone else's private information, including details in a prayer request, without their permission;
- spam, run scams, solicit money under false pretenses, or use groups, events or prayer requests for unauthorized commercial promotion or fundraising;
- impersonate a pastor, church, ministry or other person or organization, or misrepresent your affiliation;
- post content that is illegal, defamatory, or infringes someone else's intellectual property or privacy;
- upload malware, scrape or collect data from the Services, reverse engineer the apps, interfere with the Services, or access them by automated means without our written permission; or
- use the Services to break any law.
We may remove content, limit features, or suspend accounts that violate these guidelines. You can report content or users in the app or by emailing us.
5. Your content
You own the prayer requests, posts, comments, notes, images and other content you create or upload ("Your Content"). By posting Your Content, you give Agape a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable and sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, display, adapt (for example, resizing or formatting) and distribute Your Content solely to operate, provide, improve and promote the Services, and always consistent with the audience settings you choose and our Privacy Policy. This license ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for content others have already shared or interacted with, copies kept for legal reasons, and backups that are deleted on a normal schedule.
You are responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the rights needed to post it. We do not endorse user content and are not responsible for it, but we may review, remove or restrict it at our discretion.
Feedback. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.
Copyright complaints. If you believe content on Agape infringes your copyright, send a notice to info@agapebibleapp.com with the subject "Copyright Notice," including the work you claim is infringed, where the content appears, your contact information, a statement of good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized, a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner, and your physical or electronic signature. We respond to valid notices and terminate repeat infringers where appropriate.
6. Our content and Scripture
The Services, including the Agape name and logo, design, software, devotionals, meditations, audio, graphics and other materials we provide (excluding Your Content), are owned by Agape or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Services for your personal, non-commercial use.
Bible translations are provided by their respective publishers and copyright holders under license or, where applicable, are in the public domain (for example, the King James Version). Your use of a translation is subject to any terms its publisher requires, including limits on how much text may be copied or shared.
7. Agape+ subscriptions
Agape is free to use. Agape+ is an optional paid membership that adds features such as guided meditations, the audio Bible, unlimited groups and custom widget themes. Features and prices are shown in the app before you buy.
- Billing. Agape+ is purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play and billed to your app store account. Their terms and payment policies also apply.
- Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
- Free trials. If offered, a free trial converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel before it ends.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies, except where the law requires otherwise.
- Price changes. We will give you advance notice of price changes as required by law and the app stores, and you can cancel before the change takes effect.
8. Groups and in-person events
Agape helps you find groups, churches and events, many of which are organized by other users or third parties. We do not run, supervise, screen or vet these groups, events, hosts or attendees, and we are not responsible for what happens at them. Use good judgment, meet in public places, follow the host's rules, and bring a trusted friend when meeting people for the first time. Parents and guardians should supervise minors' participation. Events may change or be canceled without notice.
Links to third-party websites, apps and services are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for their content or practices.
9. Not professional advice
Devotionals, meditations, prayers and community posts are offered for spiritual encouragement. They are not medical, mental health, legal, financial or other professional advice, and they are not a substitute for care from a qualified professional or the guidance of your own pastor or church. If you are in crisis or there is an emergency, contact local emergency services right away.
10. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Services and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access, or remove content, if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if needed to protect the Services or other people. Where reasonable, we will tell you why. If your account is terminated, your license to use the Services ends. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including sections 5, 6, 11, 12, 13 and 14) will survive.
11. Disclaimers and limits of liability
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Agape disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement, and any warranty that the Services will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Agape and its officers, directors, employees, partners and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, goodwill or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to the Services, user content, groups or events, or these Terms, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers or limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Agape and its officers, directors, employees and agents from any claims, losses, liabilities and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Services, or your violation of these Terms or the rights of others.
13. Disputes and arbitration
Talk to us first. Most concerns can be resolved quickly. Before filing a claim, you agree to email info@agapebibleapp.com with a description of the dispute and give us 60 days to try to resolve it informally. We will do the same for you.
Binding arbitration. If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, you and Agape agree that any dispute, claim or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court. The arbitration may be conducted by video conference, by phone, or based on written submissions. Payment of filing and arbitration fees will be governed by the AAA's rules. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court with jurisdiction.
Exceptions. Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies, and either party may seek injunctive relief in court for infringement or misuse of intellectual property.
Class action waiver. You and Agape agree that each may bring claims against the other only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate claims or preside over any form of class proceeding.
Opting out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing info@agapebibleapp.com with the subject "Arbitration Opt-Out," including your name and the email address on your account, within 30 days after you first accept these Terms. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.
If the class action waiver is found unenforceable as to a claim, that claim will proceed in court and not in arbitration. If any other part of this section is found unenforceable, the rest will still apply.
14. General terms
- Governing law and venue. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of laws rules, and the Federal Arbitration Act governs section 13. Any claims not subject to arbitration will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you and Agape consent to their jurisdiction. If you live outside the U.S., you may also have rights under the mandatory consumer laws of your country.
- App stores. If you downloaded Agape from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Agape only, not Apple; Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms with the right to enforce them against you. Google Play's terms also apply to downloads from Google Play.
- Changes. We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you by email or in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the Services after changes take effect means you accept them.
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Agape about the Services.
- Severability and waiver. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
- Notices. We may send notices to the email on your account or in the app. You can send notices to us at the email below.
